LABOR DAY

Laborious

I found this on another blog, and thought it was fun, play along if you want!

***It's generally pretty quiet around the blogosphere on holidays.  Just for fun, I thought I'd pull out this meme (Chain letter) I found.  In honor of Labor Day, it's about...well, labor.  And not the kind you get a day off for either.

How long was your labor?
I went in the day after Caitlyn was due and was induced.  We started at 7:00am and Caitlyn was born 8:54pm...so almost 14 hours.

How did you know you were in labor?
The contractions.  They got stronger and stronger once we broke my water.  NOT fun.

Where did you deliver?
Memorial Hermann -- The Woodlands

Drugs?
YES MA'AM...bring them on, I have nothing to prove.

I was TERRIFIED at first to get an epidural...have you seen the needle that they use?  I havent...but I have heard about it.  Daniel thinks it was pretty funny that I was scared before my epidural and then after my epidural...that I "Fell in love" with the anethesiologist.  (sp?)

C-section?
No, Caitlyn came naturally with a couple of pushes.

Who delivered?
The nurses REALLY did do all the work.  My wonderful doctor basically came to catch Caitlyn.  She didnt realize how fast Caitlyn was going to arrive.  A couple of pushes really was all it took.

SUSHI, SUSHI, SUSHI

Many years ago when Daniel and I were dating/engaged we went and ate sushi with some friends of ours.  They had a young son, about 1 1/2 years old and we were BLOWN away to see how much this kid had an appetite for sushi.  The parents were not shoving it down his throat or bribing him to eat all on his plate.  But he ate it like it was one of his favorites and would ask for more.  Daniel and I were amazed.  We told each other that one day we wanted our children to be like that...to not be picky and eat what they are served.  To have a taste for different dishes, to be well rounded, that was our goal.  So...many years later...we introduced Caitlyn, at about the same age to sushi...and she has loved it ever since.  She will even request it for lunch if we ask her were she would like to go.  :)  So here is a picture of Caitlyn eating Sashimi, raw tuna.  She LOVES it and will polish the plate clean.  It is very rare to get a quiet moment from Caitlyn, but when we eat sushi...no peep from her...cause she is busy using her chop sticks and eating her "SHUSHI."

Recipes

Ok, I know it has been a long time…and unfortunately I have no pictures. Sorry.

So…what then can I write about? Oh…I know…Recipes!

Ok…when I was sick in my first trimester…Daniel did all the cooking. But since I really wasn’t eating a big dinner or eating dinner at all…the evenings were the worst part of the day for me. Daniel usually just took care of feeding Him and Caitlyn and they opted for easy dinners for the most part. So…here is my dilemma…I have lost my “groove” in the kitchen and need some help with new recipes. I have a few easy recipes and also have some recipes that we have tried and then tossed. So…if you have any recipes that you just LOVE, that don’t take forever in the kitchen to prepare and you would like to share them…I would gladly accept them. Also…if you don’t mind…I can post some for others to cut and paste. :)

Ok, I'll start...

Ok, I will start with a recipe that looks fairly easy that I found online, Bakerella...this is one of the friends blogs...she has lots of cute ideas to try. *WARNING* I havent made them before so I cant say how they taste. But they sure look amazing and yummy. Enjoy!

1 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
4 oz. Baker's semi-sweet chocolate, melted
1/2 cup finely chopped peanuts

Preheat oven to 325. Mix peanut butter, sugar and egg until well blended.
Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Remove and roll mixture into 18 balls.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet 2 inches apart.
Flatten each ball by using a fork to make a criss-cross pattern.

Bake 18-20 minutes or until lightly browned.
Cool for 5 minutes on cookie sheet and then cool completely on a wire rack.

Melt chocolate.
Dip one end of cookie into melted chocolate and then dip into chopped peanuts. Repeat with other side.
Place on wax paper covered cookie sheet and refrigerate until chocolate hardens.
Enjoy!

Week 18

Ok, I am 18 1/2 weeks along and I turn 19 weeks on Wednesday. My measurements of the baby are assumed to be:
Baby's Length: 5-5.5 in.
Baby's Weight: 5-7 oz.
Baby's Size, Crown to Rump: Soda Can

Ok, I have an appointment on Wednesday the 20th, to "officially" see if the baby is a boy...even though my nurse was "SURE" that it is a boy from my 15 week check up. But to get the measurements and all that that goes along with the 19 week check-up. I think I am going to take Caitlyn with me to this appointment so that she can see Micah on the screen moving and maybe wave to her. :) I think she will be amazed with it and think it is cool.

I Love Pictures of Caitlyn

Here is a picture of Caitlyn dancing. Ballet of course. Beautiful!

A friend of ours was very sweet and generous to make a "pillow dress" for Caitlyn. So cute and Caitlyn felt pretty Sunday when she wore it. The only unfortunate thing is...we had to make it a "pillow shirt" cause my little girl takes after her daddy and has a long torso. :)

Ok, I am better now

Alright, I ruined my posting streak. I was doing so well and once I mentioned that I was doing well...I ruined it. I havent posted in a while...but really there hasnt been too much to post about.

Hmmmm, I am 17 weeks along. Well, Wednesday I became 17 weeks along. Here is the comparison of the size of my baby, crown to rump to the size of a beanie baby.

Wow, he is getting big. Can he really be that big? Maybe it is measuring my babies crown to rump to the beanie babies crown to rump. :)

I've Got a Cold *sniff*

Ok...having a cold...while you're pregnant is NO fun. Ok...here is where I am asking for all that motherly advice. I can't remember from my pregnancy before. What is somthing that I can take to help with the watery eyes, sneezing and nasal congestion...that wont hurt the baby? I am doing those sinus washes and upping my Vitain C...along with prenatal vitamins. So what else is there for me to do?? HELP!

By the Way...just wanting to draw your attention to the fact that I have put in a new blog almost every day for a short while now. :)
